Today I took a husband and wife over to Catalina Island so they could explore and do some fishing on the way there and back. On the way over we found a very large kelp paddy and immediately hooked 2 small yellowtail. These were the couple’s first saltwater fish ever! What a special experience. They both felt bad for the fish and released them immediately after capture. After dropping them off on the island for 4 hours they opted to head back to mainland. We enjoyed perfect seas on the way there and back, and ended back to the harbor just in time to watch the sun set behind the island. Perfect California winter day!
